How can my Right Brain help me gain a creative edge?

Observe.

Your Right Brain helps you see the world as it is.

The Left Brain sees the world in symbols. It tends to the abstract - like making people into numbers on a spreadsheet.

The Left Brain can miss important cues, in the faces of people around you, in the environment, and in information that falls outside a neat set of labels.

When you are trying to figure out how to get unstuck from a problem, your Right Brain can help, because you need to start with careful and accurate observation. You need a good map, before you can plot your course.

Relate.

If you're dealing with a complex problem, likely it does not have a linear solution. The Left Brain does not do non-linear.

To a hammer, everything is a nail. To the Left Brain, everything is a tool, to be labeled, sorted, and utilized in a straight line, a straight work-flow diagram, a straight "yes" or "no" answer. It either works, or it doesn't. It is either "us" or "them."

The RIght Brain can relate disparate ideas, bring together opposite sides, and harmonize conflict.

What could you do with an increased ability to reach across to others, to negotiate to more solutions more quickly, and bring together ideas in original and innovative ways?
